Sailing yacht at sea

About us

Marco Larboard & Elena Vianello

Two Venetians, one drawing table, and a quarter century of yachts that were never supposed to be possible.

Since 2001

A studio built like a good hull: light, strong, fair

Larboard Naval Studio began in a former rope workshop on the Zattere, with two designers who believed a yacht's beauty and its engineering are the same conversation. Twenty-five years later the workshop is bigger, the conversation hasn't changed.

Today thirty architects, engineers and material researchers work between Venice and our build-support office in La Spezia — drawing exteriors, interiors, aircraft cabins and the occasional house for owners who became friends.

Co-founder · Exteriors

Marco Larboard

Trained as a naval architect, ruined as a purist by a childhood of wooden sandoli. Marco draws every first line of every yacht — and still reviews every fairing plug in person.

Elena Vianello, co-founder

Co-founder · Interiors

Elena Vianello

Elena came from theatre set design, which explains why stepping aboard a Larboard interior feels like the lights going down on opening night. She leads materials, light and calm.
